Some of the best two-year-old fillies and colts in Atlantic Canada will face off on Wednesday evening (Aug. 10) as a total of five Atlantic Sires Stakes events are slated on the Inverness Raceway card.
Two divisions of the two-year-old pacing colts will each go for a $9,000 purse, with leading point-earners Tobins Profit (Jason Hughes) and Malignity (Paul Langille) having drawn into separate divisions.
Two-year-old Atlantic Sires Stakes fillies will also meet in three divisions going for purses of $6,940 in Races 4, 6 and 10.
Points earned in each Atlantic Sires Stakes 'A' division pacing event, as well as trotting events, go towards earning a spot in the season-ending Atlantic Breeders Crown Championships, set for Oct. 9 at Red Shores Charlottetown.
Sires Stakes racing will continue on Aug. 13 as the three-year-old fillies kick off Old Home Week racing Saturday afternoon at Red Shores Charlottetown.
Inverness Raceway's first race post time on Wednesday is 7 p.m.
