Excuse Me Please earned his first victory this summer for his new connections on Friday night in the $7,000 Preferred 3 Trot at Grand River Raceway.
Driven by Justin Turcotte, Excuse Me Please ($11) advanced from third to take over the lead approaching the third quarter mark and trotted home to the two and a half length victory in 1:58.2. Excellence and Lorne House were second while co-favourite Leslie Road and Larry Walker rounded out the top three finishers.
The former WEG campaigner was claimed on June 17 at Mohawk Racetrack for $12,000 by Wilbert Weatherall of Flesherton, Ont. Trained by Cory Fuller, the five-year-old Yankee Glide gelding earned his first win in five starts since.
Excuse Me Please has won eight races lifetime while banking $84,030 in purses.
