Extraordinaire added a second O.S.S. Gold Series Final to her resume thanks to a gutsy win in her $130,000 assignment over a rain-soaked Mohawk Racetrack
on Monday evening.
Trainer/driver Wayne Henry engineered the 1:59.2 victory with Extraordinaire, who extended her winning streak to three-in-a-row thanks to the front-stepping score.
The daughter of Duke Of York-She Has It, who sat second to the quarter pole before brushing to the top and laying down fractions of 1:00 and 1:29.3, used a :29.4 final quarter to fend off late challenges from runner-up My Whispering Eye and third-place finisher Marys Out Cruisin.
The Henry Stable of Arthur and Jim Laverty of Sauble Beach, ON share ownership on the talented trotting lass, who was purchased for a mere $16,000 from last year’s Forest City Yearling Sale. Monday’s victory bumped the filly’s bankroll to $153,200.
Mohawk will host the trotting fillies for the next round of Gold Series eliminations on August 19.
