Machinthesand, with Brodie MacPhee in the bike, made it three wins in-a-row thanks to his score in the Thursday feature at Red Shores Racetrack & Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.
MacPhee sent the son of Mach Three through splits of :27.4, :57 and 1:26.2 before stopping the timer in 1:55.2. Mark Bradley trains Machinthesand for Noonan Holding Ltd and Russell and Karen Noonan. Creighton Hanover was second while Comeback was third.
Trainer/driver Patrick Shepherd made his arrival for Old Home Week. The young Stratford, PEI native drove two winners on the program including Lakers Vett who matched the fastest mile of the night of 1:55.2
Kenny Arsenault also recorded a driving double that included the evening trot’s class with Sandhill Angel for owner-trainer Glen Claybourne of Charlottetown. Arsenault will drive States Treasurer in trial one of the Sobeys Gold Cup & Saucer Saturday night.
Driver Terry Gallant also hits the top of the leader board after driving two winners on the night.
