Just hours before today’s US Pacing Championship, Trot Insider has spoken to Dr. Ian Moore in the Meadowlands paddock

. Shadow Play will race in today’s 12th race as part of harness racing's Hambletonian Day program at the Meadowlands.

“He’s not 100 per cent on his feet, but he’ll give you all he’s got. He’s got lots of heart and soul and he’s looking good,” said Moore.

“The left front foot which has been the problem is pretty good right now. We thought we were all set with that and then last week during the race sometime, he blew a separation in the right front foot, so we’ve been dealing with it. I’ve had the blacksmith look at it, and it may need to be opened a bit more but it’s too late now to do it, so were going to go with it.

Shadow Play paced in 1:48.4 on that foot last week, finishing second in an Invitational Pace.

“Friday morning I jogged him at the farm, and I was looking at it after and he was very tender in the heel so we threw poultice on it, he popped an abscess there, so that’s a good thing, continued Moore. "He never showed any lameness jogging yesterday.”
