The leader in the 2025 TROT Magazine Fantasy Stable before Hambletonian weekend continues command of the contest after Saturday's exciting conclusion.
Heading into Hambletonian Day on Aug. 2, 2025, the stable comprised by Wayne Rowe of Woodham, Ont. sported a bankroll of $2,687,424, and that bankroll was bolstered on Saturday by the successful performances of stakes winners Captain Optimistic, Sylvia Hanover and M Ms Dream as well as Hambletonian-winning trainer-driver Ake Svanstedt and Oaks-winning driver James MacDonald.
Among the 1,124 entrants, Rowe's stable tops the charts more than $3.5 million in earnings. Scott Hall of Ayr, Ont. ranks second with $3.3 million in total earnings with Todd Flanigan of Brantford, Ont. and his $3.28 million besting seven rivals also past the $3.2 million plateau.
The TROT Fantasy Stable Contest is based on total earnings of selected horses and five per cent of the earnings of selected trainers and drivers between May 23 and Dec. 31, 2025.
Thanks in large part to our co-sponsors — The Hambletonian Society/Breeders Crown and OnGait.com — TROT Magazine is now able to offer the top three finishers prizes totalling the highest value in the history of the contest.
Once again this year, for the purposes of the fantasy bankroll, the winners (horses only) of the 2025 Breeders Crown finals, to be contested at Woodbine Mohawk Park, will each receive a $200,000 contest bankroll bonus. There was no bonus for the 2025 Hambletonian-winning horse, Nordic Catcher S, as he was not a part of this year's contest.
At the end of the year, the first three finishers (based on total earnings) will be awarded prizes in the amount of $1,000 CAD for first place, $500 CAD for second place and $250 CAD for third place, as well as the same amount (in USD credit) on OnGait.com. (OnGait credit is transferable).
Standardbred Canada reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to substitute a prize or portion of a prize with equivalent monetary value, if a prize or any part of the prize, cannot be awarded as described for any reason.
