Bye Bye Felicia doubled up in the $9,000 Fillies and Mares Open Pace at Tioga Downs, rallying from the backfield to win the Friday, Aug. 6 edition in rein to Braxten Boyd.
Landry Seelster (Mike Simons) led to the first quarter in :26.4 before Georgie Martin N (Jim Meittinis) took a short lead but was passed by American Delight N (Wally Hennessey) with one lap to go.
American Delight N led to the half in :55.1 and three-quarters in 1:24.1.
Bye Bye Felicia ($4.90) made her move three-wide around the final turn. She took over as they reached the stretch and had to brace for a late move by second place finisher Shecouldbegood N (Mike Merton). However, Bye Bye Felicia was too strong and won in 1:52.4. American Delight N held on for third.
Bye Bye Felicia is a seven-year-old mare by Woodstock. She is owned by Rick Howles and trained by John Hallett. The win was her fifth of the season and 31st career victory.
Wally Hennessey drove three winners on the card and leads all drivers with 103 wins. Braxten Boyd is second on the list with 53 victories. Mike Merton has reached the winner’s circle 41 times this season for third best. Jody Jamieson is fourth with 24 wins. John MacDonald and Marcus Miller are tied for fifth with 15 tallies.
Mike Deters has trained the most winners this season with 37 wins. Jim McDonald is second in wins with 23 tallies. Gaston Lareau is third with 18 victories. Patti Harmon (16) and Marc Major (15) round out the top five.
