Darren Crowe took the lead in the drivers standings at Truro Raceway on Sunday after winning five of the 12 races on the afternoon card, including the featured $1,225 Winners Over Pace with the streaking Putnams Force.

Crowe earned his first victory of the day aboard his own pupil, veteran pacer Prince Alexander ($3.30), in the second race. He then won the sixth race with the Ross Toole-trained five-year-old Saulsbrook Quick ($4.80), and the eighth race with sophomore Sock It To Em ($2.90) for Calvin Isenor.

Crowe concluded his five-win performance with a sweep of the Daily Double. He sent four-year-old Putnams Force ($2.80) down the road to win the feature event for the third consecutive week by seven lengths in a career-best 1:55.2 for Toole, and won the finale with his trainee, six-year-old Rum Tuff Customer ($4.60), who notched his second straight triumph.

Crowe now leads Ernest Laffin in the drivers standings, 29 to 26. The resident of Lower Onslow, N.S. now sports 31 wins on the year and 886 lifetime.
