Slated For Success and Fern Paquet Jr. captured the $8,500 Winner’s Over trot on Friday night at Tioga Downs
. The mile of 1:56 established a new lifetime mark for the nine-year-old daughter of SJs Photo-Keystone Caviar.
Fern’s wife Jamie trains Slated For Success for Anthony Tambolleo of Sterling, Massachusetts. It was the fifth win in 23 seasonal starts for Slated For Success, who increased her seasonal earnings to more than $28,000 with the win.
In the $12,000 Open Trot, Diva Diva and Andy Santeramo went right to the front through fractions of :28, :57.1 and 1:26.2 before drawing away from the field to win by open lengths in 1:56.3.
The six-year old Yankee Paco-Lean Cuisine mare is owned by J L Benson Stables of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. It was the eighth win in twenty four starts for Diva Diva, who increased her bankroll to more than $67,000 with the lion’s share of the $12,000 purse. Morguns Sweetheart (Fern Paquet Jr.) took home the place spot, while Righteous (Corey Braden) got up for third.
Mike Micallef and Andy Santeramo each posted driving doubles on the night’s 10-race card.
