Mach Silver has found his groove and recorded his fifth straight triumph in the claiming pace worth $7,700 at Georgian Downs on Tuesday (Aug. 6) night.
Brett MacDonald and Ronald MacDonald teamed up for the second straight start, sending Mach Silver to the gate in post three in a class higher than last week's. Mach Silver faced no challenge in the slight step up as he rocketed from the gate; handled the timer with quarters in :29.3, :58.1, and 1:27.2; and then breezed home to win by a length in 1:55.1. Louis Litt N (Jason Ryan) followed the pocket trip to second and Sir Lucknow (Ryan Desroche) was third.
Mach Silver is an 11-year-old Mach Three-Preference gelding owned by Martin Kuepfer. With one fourth on the board for Mach Silver, his record shows six wins in seven starts this year. The triumph was his 22nd career win and he moved his lifetime sum to $143,643 in 121 starts. He paid $3.60 as the bettors' choice.
