Tyler Rush scored his first driving win in his first race at a pari-mutuel harness racing track in the first race on Thursday at Scioto Downs. And he was driving horse number ---what else?---one, Valid Moment
.
Valid Moment was sent off at 5-1 odds by the bettors at Scioto and the 21-year-old Rush reserved him off the pace and then finished strongly to score by 1-1/4 lengths in 1:56.1.
Rush had previously won races at fairs in London and in his hometown of Marysville, Ohio. Those victories came behind the pacer Abs Attack in stakes for two-year-old pacers.
The 6’1” reinsman drove 17 times last year without finding the winner’s circle, but he now has three wins in 15 drives this year.
