NA Cup Elims Two Weeks Away

Trot Insider continues to track the contenders and eligibles as they prepare for the 2020 Pepsi North America Cup just two weeks out from elimination weekend.

This year's edition of the $1 million Pepsi North America Cup will take place on Saturday, Aug. 29 at Woodbine Mohawk Park. The eliminations will be held a week prior.

For the past several years, Trot Magazine's Pepsi North America Cup Spring Book has served as an initial barometer for the colts and geldings that may be in the running for the sophomore pacing set's single biggest payday. As in past years, the Spring Book appeared in the April issue of Trot.

A number of the major contenders for the 2020 Pepsi North America Cup will be active this weekend in stakes events south of the border. Seven of the eight colts entered in the 2020 Cane Pace are North America Cup-eligible. On Sunday (August 9), Batavia Downs hosts New York Sire Stakes action, while The Downs at Mohegan Sun Pocono has Pennsylvania Sire Stakes on its Tuesday (August 11) card.
