Sweet Thing trotted home late to capture Tioga Downs' $10,000 Open Handicap Trot on Saturday, August 5.
After the big favourite Prairie Fortune went off stride after the start, Dragin The Wagon took the early lead and controlled all the early fractions, which went in :28.1, :57.1, and 1:25.2.
Winding Hill made a move after Dragin The Wagon as they battled down the stretch. Sweet Thing, who is owned by Robert Budding and trainer Homer Hochstetler, managed to weave by the two to win in 1:54.2. Dragin The Wagon would held on for second with Winding Hill settled for third.
Sweet Thing won for the fourth time this season and the 15th time in her career. She paid $8.60 to win.
