Another successful one in the books for the Standardbred Showcase Horse Show. Close to 50 horse and rider combinations ventured to Grand River Raceway
on Sunday, August 2 to compete in 22 classes of various equine disciplines.
Tanya Martin of Elmira reigned victorious as the High Point Horse/Rider of the day. With wins in English, Driving and western classes secured her the top spot sponsored by Bahrs Saddlery. Born To Score an 18-year-old gelding showed just how versatile the standardbred is. Reserve High Point was Yvonne Mulder on Guinness from Arthur.
Best turned out went to Fredoras Lincoln and Megan House, Greatest Distance traveled to Courtney Zieba and Sara Willets, Most Sportsmanlike to Jennifer Graham. For complete results and pictures, click here.
All who attended had a great day. Special thanks to Grand River Raceway, who allowed us to hold the show on Industry Day weekend. This was the second show in the Ontario Standardbred Show Series. The year end luncheon will be held at Grand River Raceway on November 1- 2009 from 12 p.m. until 3 p.m. with year end high point awards in many divisions, most versatile horse and high point horse/rider overall throughout the series will be awarded.
