Oblivious Boy Wins Pace For The Lillies

Oblivious Boy romped to a three length victory in Yorkton Exhibition's featured $1,400 Pace For The Lillies, sponsored by veterinarian Dr. Kenn Wood and his family, on Friday night.

Yorkton's leading trainer and driver Richard Remillard guided the seven-year-old As Promised gelding to his 31st career win in 2:00 over the Don Tracey-driven Seahorse Run. The winner's stablemate Burnt On Top finished third with Shawn Worthen aboard.

Oblivious Boy earned his fifth victory of the season in 11 starts for owners Valerie Emerson of Gladstone, MB and Bonnie Galenzoski of Lumsden, Sask.

Remillard ended the night with a training triple as sophomore pacer The Postman opened the the six-race card in winning fashion, Oblivious Boy took the fifth race feature, and 12-year-old roan gelding Winwood Thunder dead-heated for the win in the finale. The hot-handed Gladstone, MB horseman also drove Blair Kidd's five-year-old gelding Merlins Magicmaker to victory lane in the third dash.
