After swimming her way to a lifetime best performance on Aug. 14, Dollys Sky is back at her home track and tackles the afternoon feature on a special Labour Day presentation at Red Shores at the Summerside Raceway on Monday, Sept. 2.

The Prince County oval has 14 dashes starting at 1 p.m on Monday with the $3,000 featured pace lining up in Race 13.

Kyle Desroche trains and drives the morning line favourite Dollys Sky, who returns to her home region of Western P.E.I., this week with post two for owner Vance MacMillan of West Cape. The eight-year-old daughter of Dali has hit the board in her last four starts against pacing mares including a 1:56.1 lifetime best at Red Shores Charlottetown as she surfed up for an off-the-pace score.

Veteran pacer Hunger Pangs has post five from the Blaine McKenna barn with Brady Sweet getting the catch driving call as the 3-1 second choice on the morning line.

Starshipzodiac provided a 10-1 upset in his latest start and retains the services of leading Red Shores Summerside driver David Dowling from post six for trainer Reece Williams.

Freemans Legacy (To be driven by Jaycob Sweet) holds down post one as the three-year-old son of Pang Shui takes another crack at aged company.

Also in the field are Doc Awesome (Paul Langille), Screen Test (Corey MacPherson) and Sauble Attack (Ken Murphy).

The Backstretch Beat likes Hunger Pangs to win.

“Hunger Pangs has been facing some top pacers and garnering a cheque every week. With 24 wins and a mark of 1:54.2 he has the back class to get the job done at virtually any level and we think he’ll find these to his liking. We’ll play him on top.”

Bump In The Road is the favourite in the Race 14 finale for a $2,300 purse. Brett Leblanc drives the Sportswriter mare from the Chris Davies barn. Driver Leblanc co-owns the 14-time winner with Joel Leblanc and Lisa Marie Leblance of Nova Scotia.

One of her main foes is Mike Dowling trainee Shes Rockandfame (Dowling) who tied all distaffers in Canada for wins in 2023 with 15 victories last season.
