In the sixth-race $8,000 Lady Slipper stakes division for three-year-old trotters, the Marc Campbell-trained and driven Pappy Go Go drew post two. The other $8,000 Lady Slipper split for three-year-old trotters is in race three, with last year’s Maritime Champion Wicked Nick the morning-line favourite from post three for trainer-driver Gary Chappell and owners Peter Buchanan and Cameron Trail.
The two-year-old trotters will see Lady Slipper stakes action in $7,600 divisions in races two and four.
Race two has an old rivalry renewed with Ticked (Myles Heffrnan), a winner in four of five starts, leaving from post two, while Buckaroo (Campbell) has post three as he tried to finally knock off his main divisional competition.
West River Cindy is the morning-line choice from post seven in the fourth race, with Clare MacDonald training and driving for owner Haley Shepherd.
The Open trot headlines the 12-dash card in race ten and carries a $1,850 purse. Osprey Impact has the target painted squarely on her back after her Open trot victory last week for driver Walter Cheverie and owner-trainer Paul Larabee. Her main competition comes from Freddie (Campbell), along with Kennel Buddy (David Dowling) and Holy Molie Maggie (Gilles Barrieau) with post 7.
