Silence Son made his Running Aces swan song a memorable one by winning the $9,600 Open Trot for the third consecutive week on Sunday night (August 30).
According to owner/trainer George Reider, the six-year-old gelded son of Majestic Son is now headed to the Delaware, Ohio Blooded Horse Sale where he’ll sell as part of the supplemental catalogue at the end of the Monday (September 1) session.
Driver Nick Roland left alertly from the assigned outside post position and coasted through front-stepping fractions of :28.1, :58.1 and 1:26.4 before trotting home in :28.4 for the 1:55.3 victory. El Azteca (Gerry Longo) raced gamely to finish a head behind in second with Thekeptman (Luke Plano) three lengths back to garner the show dough.
It was the 11th 2015 triumph in 28 tries for Silence Son, who now sports 27 career victories in 88 lifetime starts and has banked $110,822.
