Three-year-old pacing gelding Sayitlikeyoumeanit pulled off an 18-1 upset with a maiden-breaking victory in the $12,476 MSSBA Futurity on Saturday at Killarney.

Sayitlikeyoumeanit ($39.10) advanced from third approaching the third-quarter mark and wore down the pacesetting Broadway Pebbles for the 2:07 triumph. Broadway Pebbles finished one and a quarter length behind with early trailer Heartland Slushie rallying home to show as the 99-1 longest shot on the board.

Trainer/driver George Isman shares ownership of the homebred Whatayasay-Break The Cycle gelding with Tara Isman of Gladstone, MB. Sayitlikeyoumeanit was a runner-up in his Futurity elimination on July 19 at Glenboro and was making his fifth career start in Saturday's final after going unraced as a two-year-old.

The Art & Betty Grundy Memorial Pace was won by the debuting two-year-old pacing colt Als Friday Player and trainer/driver Marc Fillion in 2:08.1. Owned and bred by Al Car Farms and Carole Drader of Brookdale, MB, the son of Western Gambler and Positive Player beat older rivals in the $1,600 maiden race.
