Trainer Charlie Peake, driver Jerry Robinson and horse Galagher Seelster are now a perfect three-for-three this season thanks to their victory in the third race on Saturday night at Kawartha Downs.
With Robinson at the controls, the Mister Big three-year-old led from start to finish and won by four lengths in 1:56. It was the third win in as many lifetime starts for Galagher Seelster purchased by Peake of Campbellford, Ont. for $9,000 at the Forest City Sale.
Another winner of note this evening was the two-year-old filly by Sportswriter, Windsun Chanel, who won for trainer/driver Murray Brethour in 1:58.3. It was the first win in two lifetime tries for the rookie owned by breeder Windsun Farm of Uxbridge, Ont. The filly is a half-sister to $2.7 million winner Four Starzzz Shark.
