On Sunday, August 7, the Hippodrome de Quebec will be rocked by the music of the postwar years. For the first time since he underwent heart surgery last spring, Guy Emond will sing to the crowd

.

"In addition to [singing], horse racing is one of my passions and I will be very happy to be there with the Quebec racing fans," said the former sports columnist.

Guy Emond, 70, has loved music since childhood and he fulfilled his dream to become a singer after a journalism career. His favourite tunes including "N'oublie jamais" or "Your Cheating Heart," "Crazy" and "Un soir sans toi" will be added to his songbook in a colourful show.

On the same day, fans could also savour the best corn cob in the region at 50 cents each as part of a corn roast. Other discounts will be available.

From August 7 through September 3, there will be a short break on Quebec oval to allow the presentation of the Expo Quebec (Agricultural Exhibition). Live horse racing will resume every Saturday and Sunday from September 3 through September 25.
