Pair Of Upsets In Hiawatha Features

U Know Ugot It and Cadillac Kid both rallied off cover to upset in their respective Preferred assignments featured on Saturday night at Hiawatha Horse Park

U Know Ugot It got away seventh in the $7,200 Preferred 3 Pace for driver Alfred Carroll and trainer Robert Sparling. After moving into the outer flow, he followed his cover three-wide before sprinting home in :28-seconds for the season's-best 1:53.3 victory. The popular pacesetter Summer Sizzler (Brad Forward) finished two and a half lengths behind in second with Buffalo Soldier (Nick Steward) finishing third.

U Know Ugot It paid $34.60 for the upset. Sparling co-owns the eight-year-old son of Rambaran-Armbro Rigmarole, who has won four of his 20 starts this year, with Dorchester’s Kevin Peck.

In the matching trotting event, Sharon Dalke’s Cadillac Kid rallied off second over cover and kicked home in :29.4 for the five length score in a season's-best 1:57.2 with Mark Pezzarello in the bike. Zorgwijk Hollander (Brad Fritz) and favourite Red Neck Style (Brad Forward) rounded out the top three.

Cadillac Kid paid $17.90 to win for the fourth time in 25 seasonal starts. The four-year-old gelded son of Darvin-Pistol Packing is trained by Rick Lake.
