Action-Packed Thursday Set For Red Shores

A fantastic evening card of world class harness racing is set for Thursday, Aug. 29 Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park with 15 dashes starting at 6 p.m.

Race 12 is the second leg of the P.E.I. Colt Stakes Graduate Series Gold division, presented by JD Marine and Diving Inc., for $5,500 for four, five and six-year-old Maritime-foaled female pacers. Rosetown Mary (To be driven by Corey MacPherson) is the top selection from post three up against Redlandbethanyjean (Brodie MacPhee), Plain Jane (Brady Sweet), Rock N Roll Cays (Jason Hughes) and Tobins Brownie (David Dowling).

The $4,300 Grassroots divisions of the P.E.I. Colt Stakes Graduate Series for pacing mares line up in races three and seven.

Race 10 is a $17,200 Lady Slipper Trot division for three-year-old fillies. Gettin Tipsy is the top selection from post three for trainer-driver Mike McGuigan and owner Jamie Whalen of Avondale.

The $17,200 Lady Slipper Trot division for three-year-old colts in the eighth race has Gettin Lit selected on top of the morning line from post two for trainer-driver McGuigan and owner Whalen.

Oceanview Rumours will seek her third straight win in a $12,450 Lady Slipper two-year-old trot filly division in race six for the team of driver Adam Merner, trainer Melissa Rennie and owners Bill and Scott Roloson and Joey Aylward.

The two-year-old trot colts battle in Lady Slipper action in the fourth dash for $12,450 as Father Patrick rookie Bless Me Father (Marc Campbell) returns to P.E.I., from Ontario and finds himself in the Landon Campbell barn for owner Donna Van Meer of Mount Herbert.

Race 2 is another Lady Slipper two-year-old trot colt division as Dusty Lane Gus comes back to action after his maiden-breaking score last week for driver Marc Campbell, trainer Lenny Myers and owner Alexis Gass of Cornwall. The EL Rocket colt has the rail in the $12,450 class.

Race 13 is a leg of the Island Oceans Trot Challenge, presented by Burkie By The Bay Stable, with $5,300 at stake. Irish Ray (Marc Campbell) gets top billing off the rail against post two starter Chasin Dreams (Merner) and post three starter New Legacy (Hughes).

In overnight action, Race 5 is the CIBC Private Wealth Pickard Financial Management Group pace with Woodmere Delta (Gilles Barrieau) the top selection from post six for trainer Jeff Holmes.
