There wasn’t much pari-mutuel support given to Lets Wait And See in Monday’s $7,500 Preferred 3 for horse and gelding pacers, but that didn’t stop the gelding from posting a 24-1 upset in the featured affair.
Colin Kelly got away sixth from Post 4 with Lets Wait And See, who watched Totally Kissed lay down panels of :27.3, :57.3 and 1:26.1. Kelly tipped his charge to the outside on the way to the half, and after catching cover in the middle stages of the mile the Scott Friend trainee was able to scoot home in :28.1 en route to winning by a half-length margin over race favourite Buckeroo in 1:54.4. Totally Kissed faded to finish third.
Gordon Hart of Kitchener, Ont. owns the six-year-old son of Shadow Play-Remember The Magic who improved his seasonal record to 5-4-4 from 28 starts with the victory. The 15-time winner has now banked over $140,000 to date.
