Surrealist Goes Solo In Inverness Feature

Published: August 28, 2016 10:43 pm EDT

Four days ago, Surrealist had to share top honours in a dead-heat win at Inverness Raceway, but the 10-year-old pacer had the winner's circle all to himself on Sunday afternoon (August 28) after posting a two-length victory in the afternoon feature.

With Colin Kelly back in the sulky, Surrealist followed race leader Euchred through fractions of :29.1, :58.1 and 1:27.2 before sweeping by to win the $1,000 Winners Over Pace in 1:56.1. Euchred stayed for second and Schooner followed five and three-quarter lengths behind in third. Wednesday's co-winner Rambling Gambler rallied out four-wide from the back of the seven-horse field to finish fourth this time out.

Surrealist has now won half of his 16 seasonal starts, including his last three in a row. Richard Mullins trains the Modern Art gelding for owner Dana Getto.
