In a sparkling performance, Elmer Fannin and George Teague Jr.’s Im Gorgeous went wire-to-wire to capture the Cane Pace elimination at Freehold Raceway in track record equaling time of 1:50.4

Woodstock, a $35,000 supplemental entry, finished three-quarters of a length behind the winner and two and three-quarter lengths ahead of third place finisher Valentino. Rockin Image and Urgent Action finished fourth and fifth respectively, to make it into Labour Day’s $300,000 Cane Pace final, the first leg in pacing’s Triple Crown.

With Andy Miller in the driver’s seat, Im Gorgeous, a son of Bettors Delight set fractions of :26.2, :55, 1:22.2 and stopped the teletimer in track record equaling time of 1:50.4 held by both Art Official and Vintage Master.

Im Gorgeous returned $5.20 to win as the second choice, sparking an exacta of $12.80 and a trifecta worth $43.20.

The first five finishers in the Cane Pace elimination will join BGs Folly, Delmarvalous and One More Laugh, all of whom elected to take byes in to the final by virtue of their 2010 seasonal earnings.

Live racing resumes Wednesday September 1 with a post time of 12:30 p.m.
