Three-year-old trotting colt Fox Valley Ontario picked up his second Prospect Series win of the season on Sunday afternoon (Aug. 27) at Clinton Raceway.
Fox Valley Ontario ($3.10) was the fastest winner of the two $8,000+ fourth leg divisions, launching from third with a quarter-mile to go and trotting home in :30.1 to pass race leader He Will for the three-length victory in 1:59.1, with pocket-sitter Electro Legs completing the top three. Tyler Borth drove the Muscle Mass-Dont Think Twice colt, who also won a leg of the Prospect Series on Aug. 4 at Grand River Raceway after a pair of top three finishes competing at the Grassroots level of the provincial program. Trainer Randy Fulmer shares ownership of the 1-2 popular winner with Phil Katcher.
The other division won by 7-1 shot Sunglassesatnight ($16.40) in rein to Lorne House for trainer Jeff Graham and co-owners Chase and Jennifer Graham. Twice a runner-up in earlier Prospect Series action, the Muscle Up The Goal-Honeysuckle gelding established a new lifetime mark of 2:00.1 after gapping early and going first-up from fourth mid-race to defeat tempo-setter Acefortyfour Elvis and 3-5 favourite Oceanview Massey by 1-1/4 lengths.
