A pair of $30,822 Open-level events served as co-features on the Harrington Raceway program on Tuesday, Aug. 25.
In the Fillies and Mares Open Handicap Pace, Jett Propelled led the group to an opening quarter in :28 and half-mile in :57 as the field remained single file until approaching three-quarters in 1:26.2. Jett Propelled, in line to Jason Thompson, drew away in the stretch for a two-length win in 1:55 over Cindy Jo (Roger Plante Jr.) with Always B Merry (Allan Davis) third.
The five-year-old Roddys Bags Again-Jett Away mare notched her 25th career win from 91 starts and boosted her bankroll to $753,000 for owner/trainer Bob Shahan. Jett Propelled has enjoyed a standout 2026 campaign and picked up her ninth win of the season in 27 outings. She paid $7.40 to win.
In the Open Handicap Trot, even-money favourite Speed Away was in pursuit of his third straight win. Despite post eight, the eight-year-old Father Patrick-All The Time gelding did just that with a 1:56.1 triumph for owners Breakaway Racing and Yorwollahan Racing Team. He was fourth through :28 and :57.1 early panels for Corey Callahan, shot to the lead before a 1:27.1 three-quarters and defeated All Wrapped Up (Allan Davis) by a half-length. Baby Bob (Ross Wolfenden) was third.
Trained by Nick Callahan, Speed Away continued his affinity for the Harrington-half mile as the former track Horse of the Meet notched his 20th win at the oval and 32nd overall career victory in 120 appearances. He raised his career bankroll to $744,014 with his eighth win of the season in 21 starts. The win price was $4.20.
Trainer Les Givens had three wins on the 15-race card. He won with Land Of The Free ($2.40), Bayside Cue ($4.80) and Black Hope ($12.80). Following a win from two starts on Monday, Givens is four-for-eight over the last two days.
Live racing will return to a Monday-through-Wednesday schedule (post time 4:30 p.m.) starting Aug. 31 and continuing through the balance of the meet until Oct. 21.
