Bettim Again came up large in the Atlantic Lottery Gold Cup and Saucer final and now fellow finalist Time To Dance will look to get even Saturday night (Aug. 26) at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.
The capital oval has a 13-dash program scheduled for a 6 p.m. (ADT) opening post time with the $3,500 Preferred Pace lining up in Race 12.
Time To Dance has the pylons in the top event for trainer-driver Marc Campbell and owners Brent Campbell of Charlottetown and Matt McDonald of Ontario. The six-year-old by A Rocknroll Dance left from post 8 in the $100,000 Gold Cup and Saucer final and wound up seventh. Bettim Again was fourth in the rich event pacing a terrific trip in 1:52 flat from the Jeff Lilley barn. Jason Hughes picks up the catch drive from post 2 on Saturday as the horse looks for his 16th lifetime win in his 50th career start.
Rose Run Quest has post 3 in the field at 7-2 morning-line odds with Adam Merner in the race bike. Rounding the field is Bugsy Maguire (To be driven by Ken Murphy), Moonwriter (Mark Bradley) and Mantario (David Dowling).
The Post Time Picks like Time To Dance on top.
“We loved the way Time To Dance raced in the Gold Cup trial fronting it all the way and just getting collared at the end. We’re thinking the tactics could be the same tonight so get ready for a wire-to-wire score.”
Race 8 is the Omer Caissie Memorial pace with Euchred the morning line favourite from post 7 with Marc Campbell in the race bike for trainer Walter Walker.
