The fourth leg of the Buckeye Stallion Series for three-year-old filly trotters, contested Wednesday (August 25) at MGM Northfield Park, saw a pair of earlier winners victorious for a second time in the series while another sophomore earned her first win.
The repeat winners were led by Cash N Chips, who turned in the fastest time with a wire-to-wire win in 1:55.3 for Hunter Myers and trainer Steven Bush. The Cash Hall filly out of Sugar N Chips scored by 2-1/4 lengths with a final quarter in :29.2.
Chip It In picked up her second win in the series with Ronnie Wrenn Jr. for Chris Beaver in 1:57.1. Chip It In was first-up from fourth to win by a half-length. The filly is by Break The Bank K out of Chippiesbrownsugar.
Winning for the first time in the series was Rose Run Whitney. The daughter of Uncle Peter out of Stonebridge Dancer scored for Greg Grismore and trainer Ron Burke in 1:56.2 with the final quarter in :28.4. Rose Run Whitney got away fifth going three-wide at the three-quarters to score by 4-1/4 lengths at the wire.
The final leg for three-year-old filly trotters will be raced Sunday, Sept. 19 at the Delaware County Fairgrounds.
