Commander Crowe clinched yet another impressive victory thanks to his tally in Saturday’s Grand Prix of the General Council of the Alpes Maritimes at Cagnes sur Mer in France.

Driver Christophe Martens and the nine-year-old son of Juliano Star-Somack, who resides in the stable of trainer Fabrice Souloy, held off a late challenge from Ready Cash and Franck Nivard en route to the 1:52.4 decision. Last year’s Breeders Crown runner-up, Rapide Lebel, made a miscue behind the starting gate and was a non-factor throughout the contest.

The victory was the eighth win of the season for Commander Crowe, who picked up $112,500 in earnings with the win. The gelding has banked more than $1.4 million this season alone.

Reports indicate Commander Crowe has an upcoming engagement in France before returning to his native Sweden to compete in the final of the Trotting Masters.
