With the $1 million USD MGM Yonkers International Trot fast approaching, a flurry of invitations have been extended and many new faces will be joining the lineup this week. Leading off the parade of new players is top Swedish performer Double Deceiver.
A son of Cantab Hall out of the Donato Hanover mare Sarcy, Double Deceiver was born and raised in the United States where he raced the first two years of his career. The now six-year-old made $822,579 during those years while winning the Kentucky Sire Stakes Championship as a two-year-old and netting a Matron Stakes win plus a second in the MGM Yonkers Trot at age three.
Double Deceiver was purchased for $500,000 at the Standardbred Horse Sale in Harrisburg on Nov. 11, 2022 and now races under the banner of Daniel Reden’s Stall Zet. He’s increased the horse’s career record from 11 wins in 25 starts to 22 victories in 42 trips behind the gate.
Most recently in 2025, Double Deceiver has been collecting stakes victories overseas, picking up major wins in the Sweden Cup at Solvalla in May, St Michaels Race in Finland in July and the recent Jämtland Grand Prix.
Double Deceiver joins the previously announced Hohneck and Gio Cash as starters in the MGM Yonkers International Trot to be raced on Sept. 13. The special afternoon card will also feature a pair of $200,000 USD Invitationals for older trotters and pacers.
