Fashion Frenzie Triumphs In Mohawk Preferred Trot

Fashion Frenzie returned to victory Iane in the $42,000 Preferred Trot on Monday, Aug. 25 at Woodbine Mohawk Park.

Safe Conduct (Chris Christoforou) was the first to the lead with an opening fraction set in :27. Fashion Frenzie (Louis-Philippe Roy) tracked the leader in second before sweeping to the top. Roy and the Eric Nadeau trainee maintained a 1-1/2-length lead through the half in :55.1 and three-quarters in 1:23.3. Continuing his momentum, Fashion Frenzie scored by 1-1/2 lengths in 1:51.4. Safe Conduct was second and Amigo Volo (James MacDonald) was third.

Fashion Frenzie is a seven-year-old gelded son of Archangel and the Striking Sahbra mare Striking Fashion. Ecurie Francis Richard Inc., Gestion Mario Bourgea Inc., Pierre Guillemette and Sylvain Richard co-own the winner of five races this year in 15 starts and career winner of 32-11-12 in 72 starts. He pushed his lifetime sum to $1,441,307. Fashion Frenzie paid $3.60 to win.

There were two $17,000 divisions of a Pop-Up Series for non-winners of $50,000 (fillies and mares $62,500) in 2025 with also eligible starters for a purse of $11,000 or less in one of last three starts. 

Flirty Dancer ($5.40) and James MacDonald took the first division by 4-3/4 lengths in 1:53.4. Paul Reid trains the Lookslikeachpndale-Hola Lola four-year-old mare, who he co-owns with Brian Kleinberg, Richard Beinhauer and Megan Martin.

Myretirementdream ($5.70) and Tyler Borth won in gate-to-wire fashion in 1:54.3 by three-quarters of a length. Eli Wagler bred, owns and trains the Il Sogno Dream-Myretirementticket four-year-old.
