It took him more than 60 seconds, but Inaminute Hanover prevailed in the $21,622 Open Trot at Tioga Downs on Saturday, Aug. 24.
Makadushin N Cheez (Ridge Warren) was on top through fractions of :27.4, :56.1 and 1:24.3, with third choice Inaminute Hanover and Mike Merton biding their time in the two hole. As they reached the stretch, Inaminute Hanover ($11.80) popped the pocket and blew right on by to win in 1:54.2. Makadushin N Cheez stayed for second with favoured Resolve To Win (Tyler Miller) finishing third.
Inaminute Hanover is a six-year-old gelding by Bar Hopping. He is owned by Beauty Bridle Racing Stable and trained by Jake Huff. It was his third win this season, and first at the Tioga top level. The 2021 Simcoe stakes winner now has 19 career victories and $458,793 in earnings.
Live racing returns to Tioga Downs on Sunday, Aug. 25 with a 15-race card starting at 1 p.m. Headlining the card will be the Empire Breeders Classic (EBC), showcasing the best New York-bred sophomore pacers. Both the filly and colt stakes split into divisions with each of the four stakes racing for just into six figures. The fastest pacer of 2024, Legendary Hanover will look to atone from his recent narrow defeat on one five-eighths mile oval with another three-turn stakes test at Tioga on Sunday.
