Driver Don Howlett swept Sunday's MHHI Mares Stakes eliminations at Killarney with victories aboard the streaking Carleigh Cheyenne and new track record holder Julie Caesar.

Fresh off a victory in the Prairie Lily Pace at Yorkton Exhibition in Saskatchewan just two day ago, Carleigh Cheyenne went back to work and rallied wide off cover to establish a new lifetime mark of 2:00.3 in Sunday's first $1,550 stakes elimination. Rounding out the top four finishers that will advance to next Saturday's final were Flight Delay (Roland Rey), Justabitfaster (Darryl Mason), and Smileforthepicture (Cory Manning).

Sherri Mason trains and co-owns the four-year-old Cheyenne Rei mare with her husband Darryl. The win was Carleigh Cheyenne's fourth in a row.

Julie Caesar shaved one-fifth of a second off the Crush On Clinton's track record for aged pacing mares in the following elimination with a 1:59.4 front-stepping score. Gottaluckydeal (Manning), Artxzipit (Dean Rey) and Tackroom Tina (Darryl Mason) finished second through fourth to earn the last spots in the final.

The four-year-old Dudes Leaving Town mare is owned by Howlett and his Winnipeg partners Trevor and Michael Williams.

Howlett and the Williams' also won the $1,700 Open Pace with Richard Rey trainee Outlaw Spider going gate-to-wire in 1:59.3. The seven-year-old Freedoms Pass gelding was four lengths the best and is now six-for-10 on the year.

Live harness racing shifts to Holland Fair next Saturday, August 31 and Sunday, September 1 with first race post time set for 1:30 p.m. both days.
