Big League and driver Kenny Arsenault pulled off a 12-1 upset in the $2,400 Preferred 2 Pace featured on Saturday's harness racing card at Charlottetown Driving Park.

Leaving from post three, Big League ($27.20) fronted the field of eight through fractions of :27.3, :56.4, and 1:26 in the finale en route to the 1:54.3 season's-best victory. Pocket-sitters Touch Of Lightning and Earl Smith edged out first over challengers All Turain and Marc Campbell one length behind for second.

The four-year-old gelding, who was a runner-up in his previous start in the Premier's Pace last Saturday, has won eight of his 15 races this year for trainer and owner Jonah Moase of Cornwall, P.E.I.

Spud Island Classic runner-up General Luckypercy ($5.70) also returned to the win column after kicking home in :28.4 to take the $2,200 Fillies & Mares Open Pace in 1:57.1. Ron Matheson drove the popular seven-year-old mare to her fourth win this year for trainer Jackie Matheson and owners Jodilyn Shepherd of Cambridge, Ont. and Jack Brown of Stratford, P.E.I.

This week's $1,800 Open Trot went to 13-year-old Abundaspin ($6.20), who wore down the front-striding Caliban Hanover to win for the 10th time this season by nearly two lengths in 1:59.2 for trainer/driver Harold Shepherd and owner Mikaela Lustic of Warren Grove, P.E.I.
