All Charged Up took all the pari-mutuel support in Thursday’s $9,500 Fillies & Mares Open at Vernon Downs, but Its A Miracle got all the glory thanks to her front-stepping score in the main event.
Its A Miracle got away second while All Charged Up shot to the front and put up an opening quarter of :26.3. Chris Lems pocket popped with Its A Miracle, and brushed to the front without much of a tussle. It’s a Miracle sped through middle splits of :56.1 and 1:24.4 before using a :27.2 closing quarter to win by four lengths over All Charged Up in 1:52.1. Third prize was earned by Regal Roxy.
Jordan Hope trains the seven-year-old daughter of Always A Virgin-Iva Miracle for owner Victor Finocchiaro of Chittenango, NY. It was the second straight score for the 31-time winner who pushed her earnings over $380,000 in the process.
