The Lady Slipper Stakes will be contested Wednesday night at Red Shores at Summerside when the Prince County oval hosts a 13-dash stakes program
. First race post time is 7 p.m.
The star studded fields includes stake's superstar Scarlet Patti, a three-year-old trotter with close to $50,000 in the bank for owner Gordon MacLean of Winlsoe, and the un-defeated two-year-old Maple Leaf Spirit for trot specialist Ralph Annear.
Scarlet Patti leaves from post three with regular pilot and trainer Darryl MacLean in the bike. The filly makes her seventh start of the 2010 campaign and should expect pressure from West River Ugo and rail-sitter Southview Sam.
Maple Leaf Spirit, with Ralph Annear in the bike, will try to extend her streak to seven-in-a-row when the Lady Slipper Stake gets called to the gate in Race 4. Rustico Redflame is also listed as a morning line favourite for owners Alyre Pineau of Hunter River and Harris Johnston of Charlottetown, PEI.
Waiting On A Woman is favoured to win in her division of the Lady Slipper Stake in Race 7. Owners Mitchell and David Tierney have enjoyed a successful season with five top three finishes out of five starts including three wins and over $11,000 earned. Corey MacPherson gets the call to drive.
