A week after he made his Canadian debut in the Earl Rowe Memorial Trot at Georgian Downs, Dame Good Time hit Woodbine Mohawk Park for the first time on Saturday, Aug. 22 and dominated the $44,000 Open Trot.

Dame Good Time pushed out from post six, released a firing Sid The Kid (Tyler Borth) approaching a :26.3 quarter, then rolled back to the front by three-eighths for Scott Young. He reached the half in :56.1, stretched clear by 2-1/4 lengths at three-quarters in 1:25 and cruised home to victory by 2-3/4 lengths in 1:51.4. Major Velocity (Trevor Henry) finished second, with Gaines Hanover (Tyler Jones) closing for show.

Dame Good Time moved from Pennsylvania to Ontario in August, joining the barn of trainer Gregg McNair for owner-breeder John Cummins of Lexington, Ky. He finished third in the Earl Rowe before Saturday's win. The five-year-old son of Chapter Seven-Dame Du Lac is five-for-eight this season and 13-for-38 lifetime with $930,604 in earnings. He paid $2.90 to win.

Will Farroh ($12.10) captured the lone $30,000 Ontario Sires Stakes Grassroots Leg 4A race for two-year-old pacing colts and geldings. The Century Farroh-Superior Rose colt worked through traffic in the stretch and charged to a 1:53.2 victory for driver Travis Henry and trainer McNair.

P L Oliver (1:50.3, $5.60), Franco Santana N (1:51.3, $3.50) and Captain Hurley (1:51.1, $5.80) won the $20,000 Pop-Up Series first-leg divisions. The series is for pacers that started for a purse of $13,000 or less in their prior four starts or who had not averaged $2,200 per start in a minimum of 10 starts this years. Winners over $50,000 this year are ineligible.
