Live harness racing returns to Meadowlands Racetrack on Friday, Sept. 1 and runs through Saturday, Sept. 9 with a 6:20 p.m. post time. The September meet is highlighted by the New Jersey Classic Series.
On Saturday, Sept. 2, the mini ponies will visit the East Rutherford, New Jersey oval. Fans can meet mini ponies Odin, Solstice, Stormy and Angel in the Backyard and then watch them race on track in a fun charity race. The four competing drivers will race for donations to their favourite charity.
On Saturday, Sept. 9, the track will host its first "Stake and Steaks" night. Teams will compete in two steak cook-off categories plus bonus bacon and margarita categories. This first-time event is run by the Steak Cookoff Association, “building the sport of steak cook-offs!”
Guests looking to dine can enjoy the Pink Restaurant Buffet featuring local, fresh ingredients for $49.95 on Friday and Saturday evenings. Dining reservations for the Pink buffet can be made by calling 201-The-BigM (201-843-2446) or by visiting Meadowland Racetrack's website.
