With a perfect two-hole ride, Dangle Ona Dime was first to the wire in the $2,600 featured event on a special Wednesday evening (Aug. 21) program at Red Shores at Summerside Raceway.
In line to Ken Murphy, Dangle Ona Dime left well from post 5 to sit behind pole starter Mando Fun (Dale Spence), who cut out splits of :27.3, :56.3 and 1:26.2. Dangle Ona Dime powered up in the stretch drive to win by a length in 1:56.2. Mando Fun was second, while Nogreatmischief (Walter Cheverie) finished third.
Duane MacEachern conditions the four-year-old son of Pang Shui for owner Darla MacEachern.
The Darren Crowe stable shipped in from Truro Raceway in Nova Scotia and scored a pair of wins. Crowe opened the card with a maiden score by Ashestodiamonds in 2:00.2, and then Barona Lilac was a winner in 1:59.3 for trainer-driver Crowe. Crowe also picked up a catch driving win with WC Marys Buddy in 1:58.2 for trainer Don Sweet.
Live racing at Red Shores Summerside returns to its normal slot on Sunday afternoon (Aug. 25) with a 1 p.m. post time. The Joe O’Brien Memorial and Lady Slipper Stakes will headline the afternoon's card of racing.
