Tioga Downs held the draw for the Cane Pace eliminations on Wednesday morning (August 21) and when the box closed on the sophomore pacers at 9:00 a.m. sharp, only eight had declared.
No eliminations will be necessary and all eight, including sophomore standout Captaintreacherous, will go straight to the final on Monday, September 2 (Labour Day) with a post time of 1:30 p.m.
Captaintreacherous (Tim Tetrick) will be joined by his entrymate, Wake Up Peter (Ron Pierce) listed as 1 and 1A and will face off against the Casie Coleman-trained pair of Vegas Vacation (Brian Sears) and Lucan Hanover (David Miller). Vegas Vacation is coming off of two very impressive wins at Tioga Downs in the Empire Breeders Classic where he was sent first over and drew clear of the field, the latter in world record time of 1:48.3.
Also joining these four looking for Cane Pace glory will be: Someplace Special (Corey Callahan), Word Power (Jim Morrill Jr.), Twilight Bonfire (David Miller), and Varadero Hanover (Yannick Gingras).
