Apex, the 2026 Hambletonian winner and harness racing's top ranked horse as of press time, has also factored into the top spot in the standings for the 2026 TROT Magazine Fantasy Stable.
With this year's standings unveiled one month ago today, the TROT Magazine Fantasy Stable Contest is based on total earnings of selected horses and five per cent of the earnings of selected trainers and drivers between May 22 and Dec. 31, 2026.
Sandi Jacoby of Boiling Springs, S.C. sits atop the 2026 leaderboard with a total stable bankroll of $5,886,015, but Allan Blommaert of Edmonton, Alta. is not far behind with $5,580,364 accrued to date. The two stables share a handful of participants but differ in many ways, setting up some potential shifts in the standings with much of the stakes season still to be contested.
Jacoby selected Apex in Group A, with Blommaert opting for 2026 North America Cup champ Odds On Mr Mamba. Apex won't return to racing action until next month, while Odds On Mr Mamba competes in the $300,000 USD Max C. Hempt Memorial on Saturday, Aug. 22 at Pocono Downs.
