Major Muscle Romps In Preferred

After a near miss in last week’s $11,500 Preferred 2 Hanidcap at Georgian Downs, Major Muscle returned to the top class for trotters and romped to an eye-catching score in 1:53.3 for the tandem of driver Travis Henry and trainer Mark Etsell.

Henry was fourth and parked at the quarter pole with Major Muscle, who watched Absolut Seelster put up the first marker in :27.2 before giving way to Major Muscle. The favourite proceeded to take the field through middle panels of :55.4 and 1:24.1 before using a :29.2 closing quarter to win by five lengths over What A Rush in 1:53.3. Elysium Lindy took home the show dough in the five-horse affair.

The six-year-old daughter of Muscle Mass-Oaklea Rae, who is owned by Etsell and partners Rob Newton and Chuan Tan, has racked up four win this season and 16 in her career. She’s quickly closing in on $300,000 in lifetime earnings.
