Park-And-Ride Coming To Meadowlands?

According to a report by The Paramus Post, there is talk that the Meadowlands may become the site of a park-and-ride for commuters looking to beat the traffic into Secaucus Junction.

It was recently announced that the rail link from Secaucus to the Meadowlands will only be used on days that the complex is hosting events which will draw more than 50,000 people.

Critics of the announcements are upset that the rail service could be used just 30 days this year.

“It took more than 30 years for this rail link to become a reality and letting it sit unused now that it's been built simply makes no sense,” assemblyman Gary Schaer was quoted as saying. “North Jersey desperately needs every possible mass transit option. NJ Transit and the Sports and Exposition Authority should work together to give commuters yet another reason to get out of their cars and make their trips to-and-from work easier.”
