The reigning queen and top point earner of the the state's three-year-old pacing filly division, Peace Talks has drawn the rail in the first $58,100 USD split of the New York Sire Stakes at Monticello Raceway on Monday, Aug. 5.
The American Ideal filly has scored Sire Stakes wins at Tioga Downs and Buffalo (pictured above) and has banked $208,419 this season. Jason Bartlett will drive the filly for trainer Chris Ryder.
Unraced at two, Stepabovetherest (Braxten Boyd) took her lifetime mark of 1:49.4 in Sire Stakes competition at Vernon Downs earlier this year. The Huntsville miss is 3-1, leaving from post three.
Tarrific has been installed the early morning line favourite in the second division worth $59,200 USD. Bartlett will drive the Huntsville filly for trainer Ryder from post three. She has won NYSS races this season at Tioga and Vernon Downs.
Camerican (Jordan Stratton) has been a model of consistency all season with three wins and six top-three finishes in seven starts. Ron Burke trains the daughter of American Ideal, who starts from post six on Monday
A Few Choice Words has drawn the seven hole and is looking to extend her three-race win streak. Jim Marohn Jr. will drive the Courtly Choice sophomore for trainer Blake MacIntosh.
The card also features three $20,000 USD divisions of the Excelsior Stakes.
