Blue Ivy confidently pocketed Lydeo at the quarter, then held off her Lightning Lane challenge to capture Wednesday’s (Aug. 2) feature at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows, a $12,500 filly & mare conditioned pace.
Once on top, Blue Ivy easily deflected the first-over bid of Creme Delight but still had to deal with Lydeo. The seven-year-old daughter of Captaintreacherous-Ali Blue dug in for Aaron Merriman, scoring by a half-length in 1:51.1. Creme Delight finished third.
Bill Bercury trains Blue Ivy, who now boasts a career bankroll of $811,193, for Renee Bercury.
Merriman collected four wins on the 12-race card while Ronnie Wrenn Jr. enjoyed a three-bagger.
Live racing at The Meadows continues Thursday (Aug. 3), with first post at 12:45 p.m.
