Mystery Phil Scores At Red Shores

Mystery Phil capped a banner day for driver Adam Merner at Red Shores at the Summerside Raceway with a going-away win in Sunday afternoon's (Aug. 2) featured pace.

Mystery Phil and Merner swept up in the final panel to land in the winner’s circle in the $2,700 feature, stopping the clock in 1:55.1. Jeb (Jason Hughes) was second with pacesetter Woodmere Ideal Art (Robert Laffin) third. Dale and Ronnie Rennie hold the ownership papers of Mystery Phil.

Merner started off his driving grand slam on the card in the opener, winning with two-year-old filly Southfield Skye in 1:58 For trainer Glen MacKay. La Vie En Rose supplied another win in race two in 1:59.2 from the Stacey Lund stable, while Khitam Image was the other piece of the puzzle with a 1:59.2 score for Merner and trainer Marvyn Webster.

Brodie MacPhee and Jason Hughes had driving doubles on the card.

Total handle on the 12-race program was $36,700.
