Gerard Demers and Gary McDonald each scored training triples that included victories in the co-featured Winners Over events during Sunday's harness racing card at Rideau Carleton Raceway.
Demers teamed up with driver Gord Brown for his three wins with Doing Some Damage ($3.10), Unabating ($6.40) and Lukes Devon ($3.80). Unabating gave Rideau's leading trainer and driver the victory in the $6,500 Winners Over Trot. After coming up just short in his last two starts, Unabating rallied wide from the back of the pack and got up in time to prevail this week by a quarter-length over favourite Maximuscle in 1:56.4. Heres The Magic finished back in third. Unbating is owned by Catheline Pelletier and Les Ecuries Gld Inc.
McDonald scored his victories with Shanghai Mimi ($6.40), Scotty Mach N ($10.90) and Goldstar Raider ($4.30), all driven by Clarke Steacy. The Three Gees Stable's Scotty Mach N won the Winners Over Pace after clearing Sovereign Wealth at the quarter-pole and holding off that rival by three-quarters of a length in 1:53.3. If I Remember finished third.
