Ontario-sired Mach It So rallied from near the back of the pack early to score in the featured Preferred Handicap Pace on Saturday night at Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs. The race carried the night’s top purse of $25,000.

Leaving from post position No. 6 in a field of seven as the 3-1 third choice, Mach It So (Mach Three-Beach Dancer), a four-year-old gelding trained by PJ Fraley, sat sixth early on as the lead changed hands twice on the front stretch. That created a fast pace, allowing driver Andrew McCarthy to move Mach It So steadily past several tiring horses on the outside behind cover. At the top of the stretch, the path was clear for Mach It So and he steamed past Ideal Matters to win by one and a half lengths in a career-best 1:48.2. Domethatagain finished third.

Owned by Bamond Racing, Mach It So won for the fifth time in 13 2014 starts. The win was the 15th of his career, pushing his lifetime earnings to $537,968.
